Life in and from the vineyard only works in harmony with nature. As a wine family, our values are shaped by tradition, which is why sustainability for us also means thinking in terms of generations, planning and taking responsibility for this. In addition to preserving our homeland, this also includes the people who live with and in it.

Just a few years after the estate was founded, we stopped using herbicides, synthetic fertilizers and insecticides. Since then, we have obtained our energy supply exclusively from composted horse manure, green cuttings and alternating seedings.

We have converted our former orchards into meadow orchards and thus into a habitat for many animal and plant species that have become rare. In recent years, four large bee colonies have taken up residence there.

Wild herbs are sown between the rows of vines and on the edges of our fields every year to preserve the native insects and, subsequently, the bird population.

The technology makes it possible for us to cover the majority of our electricity needs from renewable energy produced on-site.

In addition, all wines are vinified vegan, our cardboard packaging is made from recycled paper pulp and all bottles contain an average of at least 75 percent recycled glass cullet.

We live in the middle of nature – for us this is an obligation, respect and a matter of course to care for and preserve it.
