Antonio Galloni/Vinous: "The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Fumé is grown in the highest parcel of the estate on 0.8 hectares at 300 meters in elevation. It is from Weisenheim am Berg on poor Tertiary limestone. The hand-harvested grapes were foot trodden, covered and rested for two hours. They were then pressed, sedimented and fermented in used tonneaux with 10% new oak. A quarter of the wine fermented in ceramic amphorae. Just a touch of fern comes with the tender white peach on the nose, wrapped in subtle cream and smoke notes. The palate is smooth, elongated, and so quiet yet profoundly, gently fruity. The finish is long, chalky and elegant." 95+/100
